Keysight Technologies’ E36300 series bench power supplies

Key sight Technologies’ E36300 series of bench power supplies provide three outputs with power of 80 W or 160 W with line/load regulation of 0.01%. Front-panel buttons let you turn any output on or off and you can configure each output with 2-wire local sensing or 4-wire remote sensing. The 4-wire sensing removes losses caused by IR drops in your power-delivery wires.
All outputs have over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection. You can programmatically change the sense configuration from 2-wire to 4-wire through an internal relay, eliminating the need for shorting bars or jumpers often used on most power supplies. The front-panel binding posts let you connect banana plugs, bare wires, or spade lugs. Each set of binding posts is color coded to match the display and control buttons.

A 4.3-in. color display lets you see measured output voltage and current, voltage/current settings, and 2/4-wire sense configuration. Soft keys under the display let you set output parameters, configure a digital output for triggering or enabling alarms, and configuring the internal data logger. With the data logger, you can view output voltage and current in an oscilloscope-like display, then save screen images (PNG or BMP formats), and save data (up to 7 Mbytes) in CSV format. A battery backup prevents the instrument from losing data should you have to move it before retrieval.
In addition to the data logger, the E36300 series can store output lists. That lets you set up a power sequence for those applications and tests that require bringing up power rails individually. You can program voltage, current, and the duration of each setting. The list is also trigger able based on internal or external events and you can repeat the list to get longer sequences.
Connectivity includes a rear-panel USB port and a LAN/LXI port (E36311A USB only), plus there’s an optional GPIB port. All units are programmable using familiar SCPI commands or through Interchangeable Virtual Instrument (IVI) drivers.
